The smallest deed is better than the greatest intention. – John Burroughs
What is World Vision?
World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by addressing the causes of poverty and injustice.
Motivated by our Christian faith, World Vision is dedicated to working with the world’s most vulnerable people.
World Vision serves all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender.
Why am I posting this on my blog?
I am posting this not to brag that I adopted or sponsored a child but to increase the awareness of those kind hearted people as to where to put into realizations their desire to help others. I know there are so many NGO’s out there whose ultimately purpose is to help the needy and less fortunate and I choose and I am claiming that we are destined to partnered with World Vision along with my friends Abi and Ching.
So? . . .
Ching, Abi and I, decided to adopt one (1) child first, but will surely adopt more child whenever budget would allow us. He is from North Cebu, a Yolanda survivor that until now still fighting in the battlefield to keep life on track. We chose the monthly sponsorship worth 750.00 (divided by the three of us) for the meantime but when more blessings will come we will definitely upgrade our sponsorship.
You can choose what mode of sponsorship you want to, may it be monthly, quarterly or annually as long as it suits your budget and really straight from your heart.
Just a little bit background, here are the 3 things you need to know about child sponsorship based on their Sponsorship Manual.
- You are helping not just a child but also their family and community.
- Your pledges are combined with those of other sponsors to make long term and community wide assistance possible.
- Child Sponsorship is about building relationships – bringing your world and theirs closer together. You will receive letters and updates from your sponsored child and community. At the same time, you can write, send gifts and visit your sponsored child by coordinating with World Vision.
Then? . . .
If you are interested to help, you may pay a visit to the World Vision booth located at Ayala Terraces (I forgot what floor it is near exit area going to terraces) Just approach one of their volunteers so that all the details you want to know will be explained to you personally or ask for Mon, he was the one who approached us and explained what is World Vision and its purpose.
They are until November 27, 2016 here in Cebu or you may visit www.worldvision.org.ph and like their page in facebook World Vision Philippines, follow their twitter account at @worldvisionph, instagram @worldvisionphl or watch their videos at youtube wvphilippines to know more details about this advocacy, or email them at firstname.lastname@example.org or call at +632 372 7777.
Be a Child Sponsor now and spread this to all of your kind hearted friends.
